Date : 24.08.2018
On 24.08.2018, at 4.30pm the women’s forum has organised an extension lecture on “Intimidations of the Minorities and Nation Building”. It was taken by Sr. Surekha Lobo, BS, the moderator of CWS and Sr. Niveditha was the moderator for the programme. We welcomed the speaker, the moderator and the animator of the women’s forum with saplings and all the participants welcomed Sr. Swatha. It was a good and fortunate time to discuss and share the issues, opportunities, challenges and it was a thought provoking session. Sr. Surekha, the speaker helped us to reflect in the group that how do we construct space for women and men in the contemporary Indian context on the basis for the need of education? How do we respond either Gospel minded or constitutional minded as a agents of transforming the society?. Along with the group discussion, we had interactive way of sharing our views and opinions. She concluded with a message, “to be a Christian is to build nation.” At the end Fr. Stephan Jayard gave few comments on purpose of having a preamble and Sr. Valsamma thanked the gathering at 5.30pm. We were benefitted to become aware of the challenges and opportunities in response to build the nation.
