JDV Day 2018-19
The JDV Day was celebrated on November 23, 2018 as per schedule given in the JDV hand book for the academic year 2018-19, with the theme, “Faith that Heals and Builds Nations.” The Cultural Wing took the prime role in organizing the JDV Day celebration under the guidance of the Fr. Arjen Tete SJ, the Animator of Students Council.
The JDV Day celebration began with the solemn Holy Eucharist in Latin Rite. The Holy Eucharist began at 8.30 a.m. in the Papal Seminary Chapel. The main celebrant of the Holy Eucharist was Fr. Thomas Kuriacose SJ, Prof. of Theology, JDV. The Holy Cross Seminary brothers took up the responsibility of choir for the Holy Mass. The Holy Mass was for all the students of JDV and the campus people. There were a good number of people attending the Holy Mass. Fr. Jose Thayil SJ, the Registrar of JDV, proposed the vote of thanks towards the end of the Mass.
Soon after the Holy Mass, there was high tea and snacks served for all the students, teaching and non-teaching staffs, and all the dignitaries present for the Mass. After the tea and snacks, free time was given to get ready for the evening cultural fiesta.
The cultural program began at 6p.m. in the Papal Seminary Hall. The cultural Fiesta was anchored by Sr. Mercy FMM and Bro. Nelson SDB. Fr. Sony Chundattu CMI, Principal of Christ Collage was the Chief Guest of the evening for the JDV Day cultural fiesta. The program began with a procession from the entrance of the hall. The Chief Guest was accompanied by other dignitaries: Fr. Selva SJ, the President of JDV, Fr. Francis Gonzales SJ, the Dean of Theology Faculty, Fr. Kuruvila SJ, the Dean of Philosophy Faculty and Bro. Fredy SVD, chairman of Student council.
