MASTER’S IN MANAGEMENT AND PASTORAL THEOLOGY
MISSION
Inkeeping with the mission of Jnana-Deepa Vidyapeeth, the master’s programme inmanagement and pastoral theology, aims to prepare persons for higher andsignificant engagement of the Church in emerging world of the future. As theworld is transforming itself so to the persons prepare themselves to bringabout change and transformation through the various ministries, provinces,dioceses they are expected to run in keeping with the mission of Jesus. We hopeto help in the on-going formation in management and leadership of a new breedof persons of commitment to be sensitive leaders in the Church to carry out itsmany and various key ministries in the dioceses and provinces with vision andspiritual strength for God’s greater glory. The aim is to help persons excel inthe service of faith, promotion of justice, and in collaboration.
METHODOLOGY
Eachcourse will be intensive and uses an array of learning and teaching methods tofacilitate learning. A large part of the learning in keeping with the times iscomputer based and so it is expected that the students have their own portablecomputers. Some courses have research based learning modules, and seminars. There will be certain areas in which studentscan choose to specialize as well as choose to study the whole field indepth. There will be a field project tobe done at the end of first year and to be completed before the beginning ofthe second year. There will be adissertation to be completed by the end of second year as a requirement of thetwo year programme.

| Summer Project First year students engage in a summer project during the summer from April to May in any one field of interest to them with the approval and guidance of the faculty Seminar Students have to present a scientific paper on an area of research interest during the academic year Dissertation Dissertation is a requirement of the Master’s degree programme. Second year students start their work on their dissertation by submitting a dissertation proposal and completing the dissertation by end of February. |
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR MASTER’SPROGRAMME
· A bachelor’sdegree in theology with a minimum of 55 percent of marks or its equivalent.
· Theequivalence of non-theological degrees will be ascertained by the AdmissionsCommittee taking into consideration the theological and pastoral background ofthe applicant.
· Letters ofrecommendation from the bishop/major superior/employer and two others who knowthe applicant well.
ADMISSION PROCEDURE
· Applicationforms can also be downloaded from the JDV website (WWW.jdv.edu.in) or obtained from the office.
· The last datefor submitting filled in Application Forms along with a demand draft of Rs.100/- drawn in favour of “Jnana – Deepa Vidyapeeth, Pune” is March 15th.
· Applicantswill be notified about their admission status by April 15th.
COURSE FEES
· The tuitionfees and library fees will work out to be Rs. 75,000/- for two years, but JDV iswilling to subsidize tuition fees and offer the course for Rs. 50,000/- for twoyears, payable at the start of the programme.
· Residential Students: The boarding and lodging will cost Rs. 200/- perday.
(The institute canarrange for accommodation in the campus.)
· Any dioceseor congregation which is poor and cannot afford may write confidentially to thePresident or to the Dean or to the Director for some further consideration.
